Superb album, I loved every second of it. It's not easy to find an ambient album which will capture your attention in an era in which thousands of them are published every day, but Decyaing Spheres releases are always on spot. Wonderful stuff, highly recommended.
Favorite track: Blue of Distance.
Imagine a simple straight line; this is our first dimension - length.
Now, let that line expand into a square, revealing the second dimension - length and width.
Allow that square to evolve into a cube, welcoming us into the third dimension - length, width, and depth.
These are the dimensions of our familiar, tangible reality.
But what if we dared to envision a fourth dimension to this cube? It seems like an impossible task, doesn't it? Just as the fourth dimension extends beyond our everyday perception, the concept of hyperobjects presents a similar challenge, unfathomable yet fascinating.
Hyperobjects are entities so vast and dispersed across space and time that they eclipse ordinary human perception. We encounter fragments of hyperobjects daily, yet their full form remains elusive, existing in a timeline far beyond a single human gaze.
Take styrofoam as an example - 25 million cups each year doomed to landfills, each with a life expectancy of 500 years. This material has an immense earthly footprint, far beyond its mundane appearance. Each cup is merely a 'local manifestation' of a much larger entity, spanning the present and stretching into the future, as explored by Tim Morton in "Hyperobjects: Philosophy and Ecology After the End of the World". Isolated, styrofoam seems trivial, yet when perceived as a unified entity across space and time, its true significance is revealed, assuming a near god-like stature that casts a vast shadow over our human existence.
This album, with its exploration of hyperobjects, emulates the quest for the fourth dimension, pushing the boundaries of creativity. It uncovers how hyperobjects, in their fragmented state, hinder emotional connection. But through a deep dive into their sensory aspects - sight, sound, touch, smell - a deeper understanding begins to surface. It's the audacious act of imagining the unfathomable scale of such an entity that truly propels a profound exploration of the relationship with its elusive essence.
Choosing the soundscape as its canvas, the album paints a sonic picture of the world of hyperobjects. By honing in on audio, it carves a perceptible window into these complex entities. Each track, a symphony of natural, industrial, and vocal sounds, augmented by ethereal synth lines, is a unique sonic exploration of this voyage into the unknown.

Massive and encapsulating. Waves of texture-based stories told from observing all the world will reveal - its dark, its light, its chilling, its warmth - with your eyelids taped open. Brilliant. Mr. Conner
